First Reports from the Polls

Port-au-Prince, February 7, 2006. According to observers, the lines at polling stations around the country are long and voters are enthusiastic. Voters arrived very early in the morning to take their place and cast their vote in today’s national elections. The polls were scheduled to open at 6 am. Polls officially close at 4 pm, but voters who are in line will be permitted to vote.
